1. Research
To get started, I conducted a competitive audit to get a sense for how their website compared to their competitors.
For the competitive audit, I looked at Manage Meant's site in comparison to seven direct & indirect competitors. I gave each site a rating for each category on a scale of outstanding > good > okay > needs work > poor.
2. Summarize
After conducting the audit, I was able to narrow down the key areas for improvement.
3. Integrate
Next, I collated examples of where and how these pain points could be improved on Manage Meant's site.
Here, I included an example of how a competitor's site makes job openings more accessible which is a key feature for the redesign as one of Manage Meant's aims for improving their website is to attract new hires.
Next, I provided examples for how the user interface design of the website could be improved on web and mobile.
Next, I provide examples of important information and site features which competitor's sites included, that Manage Meant's did not. I focused on features that encourage users to take the next step in contacting the company and getting started in the contract process.
Next, I show ways in which the accessibility of their site could be improved and why accessibility is so important.
4. Share
Finally, I presented to Manage Meant, sharing the key insights and areas for improvement.
Looking Forward
Given a larger budget and more time, I would have created complete redesigns for the website addressing key user pain points and improving the usability of the site.
